CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s Front Office reception staff appointed to high-level Gazetted Officer post bypassing rules and raising concerns of favouritism

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s Front Office Manager was appointed to a high-level Gazetted Officer post in Kerala House without following government appointment rules.

Kerala NGO Union leader, KM Prakash, was appointed as Kerala House Controller.

Prakash, who currently serves as the Front Office Manager, was appointed to the Gazetted Officer category based on a special instruction from the Chief Minister’s office.

Usually, the Controller position was given to officers of IAS rank or those who serve in the posts of Senior Grade Assistant, Assistant Section Officer, Under Secretary, Under Secretary – Higher Grade, etc. However, Prakash’s appointment as ‘Kerala House Controller’ bypassed these usual qualifications, indicating favouritism towards Pinarayi Vijayan’s loyalists.
