Kannur: The Indian Railways is all set to introduce a weekly train service from Mangaluru to Rameswaram. As per the information from the Ministry of Railways, train number 16622, the Mangaluru-Rameshwaram Weekly Express, will depart from Mangaluru at 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays and is scheduled to arrive at Rameswaram by 11:45 a.m. on Sundays.
The return journey to Mangaluru will also take place on Sunday itself, reaching Mangaluru at 5:50 AM on Monday. However, the commencement date of the Train service is yet to be disclosed.
The Mangaluru-Rameswaram Weekly Express will include stops at 12 stations. Among the stations on the route are Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Shoranur, Palakkad, Pollachi, Palani, Dindigul, Madurai, and Ramanathapuram.
Comprising 22 coaches, the train features four general coaches, ensuring a comfortable ride for a wide range of passengers. Additionally, the service is expected to benefit devotees visiting prominent temples in Palani, Madurai, and Ervadi along the route.
