Washington: 26 US Navy warships have confirmed positive cases of coronavirus onboard, a Navy official told CNN on Wednesday. Other 14 ships were also infected by the virus disease, however, the crew members who were contracted with the pandemic have cured.
The Navy did not disclose the names of the individual ships or the exact number of cases because Defense Department policy states that it would risk operational security if the details became public, reported CNN.
There are 90 ships at the sea with no reported cases and the Navy currently has 297 active duty ships.
3,578 US service members have tested positive for the virus as on Wednesday morning, including two deaths.
