Moscow: Indian Ambassador to Russia, B Venkatesh Varma, on Thursday said that India won’t do any business with China till there is “complete disengagement” of troops along the LAC in accordance with diplomatic agreements between the nations.
Varma told Russian newspaper Izvestia that India and China are currently in the process of negotiating through military channels as well and the two countries are trying to resolve issues amicably.
“India and China are negotiating through diplomatic and military channels about the situation on Line of Actual Control in border areas between the two countries. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval have conducted talks with their Chinese counterparts. While India seeks to resolve these problems through dialogue, we have made it clear we won’t do business with China as usual until there is complete disengagement of military forces along the LAC and de-escalation in border areas in accordance with bilateral agreements,” he said.
According to a latest report, China has not yet disengaged from the friction points near Eastern Ladakh and are not pushing back as per the agreed terms.
