Antananarivo: A Grand Hindu temple hall was inaugurated in Madagascar’s capital Antananarivo on Saturday on the occasion of Navratri.
Along with it a grand Hindu temple is also under construction, which is likely to be completed within 3-4 months and would be the first Hindu temple in the capital city.
There are 20,000 people of Indian origin in a population of over 26 million in the large island located in the Indian Ocean. Most Indians are Gujaratis who established their base in the last 18th century to engage in the ocean trade.
