Tragic incidents targeting students and educational institutions have occurred throughout the country in recent years, prompting authorities to enhance security measures and call for further investigation into the root causes behind these acts of violence.

Similarly, in April 2021, a knife-wielding individual entered a kindergarten in southern China, resulting in the deaths of two children and injuries to 16 others.
Another notable incident occurred in June of the preceding year, when a knife-wielding attacker wounded 37 students and two adults at a primary school in southern China. In November 2019, an individual scaled a kindergarten wall in southwest Yunnan province and sprayed a corrosive liquid, causing injuries to 51 people, predominantly students.
During the same year, a “school-related criminal case” in Hubei province in central China resulted in the deaths of eight schoolchildren, with a 40-year-old suspect apprehended. Additionally, in April 2018, a 28-year-old man killed nine college students and injured 12 others outside their school in the Northern Province of Shaanxi. The perpetrator stated that his actions were motivated by retaliation for harassment by a student at the same university.
