US Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy adopts ‘Sathyam Vada, Dharma Chara’ upanishad verse as election slogan

Washington: US presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has incorporated the well-known Upanishad verse ‘Satyam Vada’ from the Taittiriya Upanishad into his campaign as a powerful and symbolic slogan, highlighting his commitment to truth and righteousness, encapsulated in the phrase ‘Dharmam Chara. It means to tell the truth and follow the dharma.

Vivek Ramaswamy, of Malayali origin, seeks the Republican Party nomination for the 2024 US presidential election. Vivek Ramaswamy is currently the second runner-up in the race for the Republican Party nomination, with Trump leading. With Trump exiting the initial debate phase, all eyes are now on Vivek. Prominent figures like Elon Musk have endorsed and supported Vivek’s candidature.

Vivek, a biotech entrepreneur, has appeared on Forbes magazine’s Young Rich List. Raised in Ohio, he’s a notable author and speaker. His father, V.G. Ramaswamy, hails from Palakkad, and his mother, Geeta, is from Tripunithura. The Ramaswamy family immigrated to the US fifty years ago. Recently, both father and son visited Sabarimala. In Kerala, the family takes residence in a house in Vadakancheri and another relative’s home in Kalpathi, Palakkad. Vivek’s wife, Dr. Apoorva Tiwari, is of Indian origin.
