Dubai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the World Governments Summit in Dubai on Wednesday, emphasising the increasing challenges of the 21st century, particularly in food, health, water, and energy security, despite technological advancements. He stressed the need for governments to adopt inclusive approaches, ensuring the well-being of all citizens.
PM Modi repeated his belief in minimal government interference in people’s lives, advocating for “minimum government, maximum governance.” He highlighted the evolving global landscape, where modernity coexists with intensified challenges from the previous century. Issues related to food security, health, water security, energy security, and education demand concerted efforts from governments worldwide.
Reflecting on the role of governments in addressing societal needs, PM Modi underscored the importance of inclusivity and collective progress. He expressed his belief that governments must prioritise the welfare of every individual.
The World Government Summit served as a platform for leaders worldwide to convene and discuss pressing global issues. PM Modi praised Dubai’s emergence as a hub of the global economy, commerce, and technology, citing it as an exemplary model for the world.
PM Modi’s address comes amidst his visit to the UAE, part of a two-day trip that includes a visit to Qatar later in the day.
