Jaipur: Rajasthan Royals’s cricketing sensation, Sanju Samson, has etched his name into the annals of IPL history by crossing the 4,000-run mark, joining the league of legendary batsmen. Hailing from Vizhinjam, Trivandrum, Sanju Samson’s remarkable feat places him among the elite group of players who have achieved this milestone in the Indian Premier League.
In a match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) held in Jaipur the other day, Sanju Samson showcased his batting prowess by notching his first boundary off Yash Dayal. With this milestone, Sanju Samson becomes the 16th player to surpass the 4,000-run mark in IPL history. Notably, he also boasts an impressive strike rate, ranking just behind cricketing stalwarts AB de Villiers (151.68), Chris Gayle (148.96), and David Warner (140).
Sanju Samson’s achievement comes in his 136th IPL match. He has scored a total of 21 fifties and three centuries across the IPL seasons so far. Faf du Plessis, the RCB captain with 4,100 runs, stands ahead of Sanju Samson in the run-scoring charts. Moreover, Samson holds the distinction of being the highest run-scorer for the Rajasthan Royals, amassing over 3,000 runs for the franchise.
Despite his remarkable performance in the IPL opener, where he scored 82 runs, Samson faced dismissal today after reaching 69 runs. Nevertheless, his consistent performance and significant contributions to the league continue to solidify his position as one of the most promising cricketers in the IPL arena.
