Ahmedabad: Gujarat Titans reached the TATA IPL 2023 finals by beating Mumbai Indians in the qualifier 2 by 55 runs.
Shubman Gill’s third century of the season helped Gujarat Titans to reach the total of 233 runs.
After Wriddhiman Saha’s dismissal in 6th over , Sai Sudhranshan and Gill had a massive partnership of 121 runs in 59 balls which helped GT to have an upper hand in the middle overs. After the dismissal of Gill and Saha , Hardhik Pandya smashed 26 runs in 13 balls in the final stage and set a grand total of 233 for Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai Indians had already lost their two wickets in the power play, still MI was leading by Suryakumar’s smashing performance in the middle overs but, the five-time champions suffered a blow after he was dismissed in the 15th over.
Mumbai was all out in the 18th over after scoring just 171 runs from the target of 233 runs.
With this victory, Gujarat Titans stepped into the final and will be playing against the four time champions Chennai Super Kings on Sunday at 7:30 pm in Ahmedabad Stadium.
Titans is the third team to enter into finals of TATA IPL consecutively after Mumbai and Chennai.
Gujarat Titans will be playing for their second consecutive title and Chennai Super Kings for their fifth IPL title on Sunday.
