Meanwhile, Vansh also advanced to the next round after a hard-fought 3-2 win, showcasing the talent and determination of Haryana’s boxing prospects.
In the 48 kg category, Sikander faced off against Harshit Gahlot of Delhi, displaying complete control over the match from the opening round. Harshit struggled to find answers to Sikander’s powerful punches, eventually leading to an easy unanimous victory for Sikander.
Yogesh Dhanda, competing in the 57 kg category, exhibited a similar display of power and precision in his bout against Akash V from Karnataka. Yogesh dominated the match, securing a comfortable 5-0 win and advancing to the next round.
In contrast, Vansh (50 kg) had to dig deep and fight hard for his victory against Manish Gurjar of Rajasthan. Both boxers started the match with aggressive intent, exchanging blows throughout. As the match progressed, Vansh gained control and emerged victorious with a close scoreline of 3-2.
In the 48 kg category, Divash Katare of SSCB showcased his dominance from the start, leading the referee to stop the contest (RSC) in the first round.
Representing Punjab, Ishwinder Singh (66 kg) and Shail Jethi (48 kg) secured identical 5-0 victories over their opponents. Ishwinder outclassed Manteg Singh of Chandigarh, while Shail Jethi proved too strong for Soyam Malik of Bengal. Both boxers displayed their skills with ease, leaving no chance for a comeback by their opponents.
