BANGKOK – Indian athlete Tajinderpal Singh Toor has added another accolade to his name by clinching the gold medal in the men’s shot put event at the Asian Athletics Championships held in Bangkok. Toor’s remarkable performance earned him his fourth gold medal for India, as he produced a best throw of 20.23 metres.
Defending his Asian title, Toor showcased his exceptional skills before unfortunately sustaining an injury during his 20.23-metre throw. Despite the setback, the Indian athlete’s performance was enough to secure him the top spot on the podium, highlighting his determination and resilience.
Meanwhile, in a separate event, Sachin Sarjerao Khilari brought further glory to India by winning the gold medal in the Shotput F46 event at the Para Athletics World Championships. Khilari’s outstanding throw of 16.21 metres not only secured him the gold but also set a new Asian record in the process.
Additionally, Khilari’s remarkable achievement secured the eighth Athletics Quota for the Paris Paralympics in 2024. His success not only highlights his exceptional abilities but also serves as an inspiration to athletes with disabilities, showcasing the potential for excellence in parasports.
