Bangkok: On the fourth day of the Asian Athletics Championships, Indian athlete Santhosh Kumar displayed an exceptional performance, winning the bronze medal in the men’s 400m hurdles event. Santhosh recorded a personal best time of 49.09 seconds, setting the fastest time by an Indian in the event this year. The championships took place on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in Santhosh’s athletic career.
Competing against a strong field of athletes, Santhosh showcased his speed, agility, and determination throughout the race. He finished behind gold medalist Mohammed Hemeida Bassem of Qatar, who completed the race in an impressive 48.64 seconds, and Yusaku Kodama of Japan, who secured the silver medal with a time of 48.96 seconds.
Santhosh’s achievement is even more remarkable considering that his previous personal best in the men’s 400m hurdles was 49.49 seconds, which he achieved last year. The 25-year-old athlete has made significant progress and has continuously strived to improve his performance.
It is worth noting that another Indian athlete, Yashas Palaksha, also qualified for the final of the men’s 400m hurdles. However, Palaksha did not participate in the race, leaving Santhosh to represent India in the event.
