Port of Spain: India concluded its participation in the Commonwealth Youth Games on a positive note, clinching silver and two bronze medals in the athletics events on the final day, ultimately securing the 17th spot on the medal table.

According to a repot , Asha Kiran Barla triumphed  a silver medal in the girls’ 800-metre race. The bronze medals were secured by Pooja in the girls’ high jump and Arjun in the boys’ javelin throw.

During earlier events, swimmer Shan Ganguly had secured a silver medal in the boys’ 400-metre individual medley on Monday, contributing to the country’s medal tally. With a contingent comprised of 12 boys and 12 girls, the Indian team triumphed with a total of five medals in various categories.

In a remarkable feat, Asha Kiran Barla secured the second position in the girls’ 800-metre race, clocking an impressive time of 2 minutes and 4.99 seconds.
