Ahmedabad: The toss has been won by India in the much-anticipated clash between cricket giants India and Pakistan, and they’ve chosen to bowl first. Both captains expressed a preference for bowling, with Pakistan’s Babar Azam noting their good momentum and confidence from previous wins.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma, acknowledging the extraordinary atmosphere, explained their decision: “We will bowl first; we cannot get bigger than this fantastic atmosphere. Sure, a lot of us are going to experience something really extraordinary. It’s a good track, not going to change much; dew could be a big factor, and keeping that in mind, we want to bowl first.”
Babar Azam shared, “We also wanted to bowl first. We have had two good wins; momentum and confidence are high. Jam-packed stadium, we will enjoy it. We want to be good in the field; we had a couple of good practice sessions. Same team for us.”
Rohit Sharma also shared insights into the team dynamics: “Keeping the atmosphere in the team relaxed is the most important thing in a tournament like this.” He announced the return of Shubman Gill in place of Ishan Kishan, emphasising Gill’s special contributions to the team.
