Mumbai: The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is set to pay a heartfelt tribute to cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar by unveiling a statue of the iconic batsman at the city’s revered Wankhede Stadium. The statue, a creation of the talented painter-sculptor Pramod Kamble from Ahmednagar, is slated for installation at Wankhede Stadium on November 1.
The statue of Sachin Tendulkar will find its place near the already dedicated “Sachin Tendulkar Stand” at Wankhede Stadium, a venue forever linked with the cricketing maestro’s memorable performances.
The decision to honour Sachin Tendulkar with this statue was announced earlier this year, in February, by Amol Kale, the President of the Mumbai Cricket Association. The decision was met with widespread enthusiasm among cricket enthusiasts, and the unveiling of the statue serves as a reminder of Tendulkar’s unparalleled contribution to the sport and his lasting legacy.
