Indian women’s hockey team emerged victorious in the league stage and heads to the semi-final in the Asian Champions Trophy. The team secured their position at the top with a record of five wins in five matches, accumulating a total of 15 points.
Their latest triumph came in the form of a resounding 5-0 victory over South Korea in the final round-robin game. The dominating performance in the league stage saw India leading the standings, surpassing the newly crowned Asian Games gold medalists, China.

With 15 points in their pocket, India claimed the top spot, while China and Japan followed closely with 9 points each. Three-time champion South Korea secured the fourth position with seven points. Unfortunately, Malaysia, with 4 points, and Thailand, with none, failed to progress to the last four stages of the tournament.
In the upcoming semi-finals, India is set to face South Korea once more, aiming to secure a spot in the final on Sunday at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh AstroTurf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi. Meanwhile, China will take on Japan in the other semi-final clash, and the winners of these matches will battle for the championship title.
