Indian Badminton duo shines at China Masters tournament ; advances to quarters

Shenzhen: The Indian badminton pair of Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the China Masters tournament by defeating the Japanese duo of Akira Koga and Taichi Saito. The top-seeded Indian pair showcased their formidable performance this season, clinching the win in straight sets with a scoreline of 21-15, 21-16.

Furthermore, Asian Games bronze medalist H.S Prannoy secured a spot in the quarterfinals with a convincing straight-game victory. He triumphed over Denmark’s Magnus Johannesen with a scoreline of 21-12, 21-18 in a match lasting 40 minutes. Prannoy’s next opponent will be determined in the faceoff between Japan’s Kodai Naraoka and Johannesen’s compatriot, Anders Antonsen.

Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth faced elimination, and young Indian player Priyanshu Rajawat also experienced a defeat against a Japanese opponent.
