Mumbai: In the wake of MS Dhoni’s retirement from international cricket, the looming question of his potential retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) has captured the attention of fans. Speculations have been rife that the iconic ‘captain cool’, who led the Chennai Super Kings to five IPL titles, may bid farewell to the league after the upcoming season. However, Dhoni has not provided a clear statement on this matter.
Dhoni shared his perspective, responding to inquiries about his future plans, particularly if he were to retire entirely from cricket. Dhoni stated that, “I have never thought of retiring from cricket completely. I still play cricket, and the IPL is a part of that. But one thing is certain-I will engage in military service for some time because I have not been able to work with the army for the past few years,”.
In 2011, MS Dhoni was honoured with the title of Lieutenant Colonel and he served in the 106 Territorial Army Battalion. In 2019, Dhoni took part in military service in Kashmir, where he carried out tasks like guarding and watching over military posts, as well as patrolling, standing guard, and outpost duties for the army.
