Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Cricket Association has revealed 16-member squad that will represent the state in the upcoming Ranji Trophy tournament. The team, led by Sanju Vishwanath Samson, includes new faces and a blend of experienced players.
Rohan Kunnummal has been appointed as the vice captain. Notably, Vishnu Vinod makes a return to the squad, bringing his skills to the forefront. The spin all-rounder Sijomon Joseph has also secured a spot, contributing to the team’s versatile lineup. A new face in the squad is Vishnu Raj. The team features experienced players like Shreyas Gopal and Jalaj Saxena.
The Kerala squad is placed in Group B for the Ranji Trophy alongside Mumbai, Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, and Bihar, and the much-anticipated first match for Kerala is against Uttar Pradesh, which is scheduled for January 5 and to be held in Allappuzha.
The squad comprises a formidable lineup, including Sanju Samson (captain), Rohan Kunnummal (vice-captain), Krishna Prasad, Anand Krishnan, Rohan Prem, Sachin Baby, Vishnu Vinod, Akshay Chandran, Shreyas Gopal, Jalaj Saxena, Vaishak Chandran, Basil Thampi, Vishweshwar A Suresh, MD Nidheesh, Basil N P, and Vishnu Raj as the wicketkeeper. A. Venkataraman will assume as the Head Coach and M. Raja Gopal will be the assistant coach .
