Dubai: Hardik Pandya has been named as the new captain of the Mumbai Indians for the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, replacing the seasoned captain Rohit Sharma. The five-time champion’s team management has invested significantly in this strategic move, spending crores to acquire the star player from Gujarat Titans.
The deal, characterised as an all-cash transaction, sees Pandya’s salary soar to an impressive Rs. 15 crore which prompt to a huge debate. However, the deal doesn’t end there. According to a report by the Indian Express, the Mumbai Indians have reportedly paid a substantial transfer fee to secure the services of the dynamic all-rounder.
The exact amount of the transfer fee hasn’t been unveiled, but there are rumours that a whopping Rs. 100 crore was involved in this transfer. The secrecy around this big amount is making people curious to know the exact sum, and only the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) knows the details. So far, no one has officially said if this information is true or not.
