New Delhi: Divyakriti Singh has etched her name in history by becoming the first woman from the country to be bestowed with the prestigious Arjuna award for her remarkable achievements in equestrian sports. The Asian Games gold medalist was honoured at a grand ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday, where President Droupadi Murmu presented her with the coveted award.
Hailing from the state of Rajasthan, Divyakriti Singh not only stands as a shining example of excellence in equestrian sports but also holds the distinction of being the sole recipient of the Arjuna Award from her home state.
Having contributed to the gold medal-winning Indian dressage team at the Asian Games in Hangzhou in September, Divyakriti continued her stellar performance by securing an individual silver and two bronze medals at the International Dressage Competition in Riyadh last month. Her career-best scores in the face of stiff international competition further solidified her status as a rising star in equestrian sports.
