Jurgen Klopp to step down as Liverpool coach at end of this Premier League season

Thiruvananthapuram: Jurgen Klopp, the renowned coach of Liverpool FC, has decided to step down from his role at the end of the current Premier League season. The announcement was made by Klopp himself in a video shared on the club’s official website.

In the video announcement, Klopp expressed that he had devoted a significant amount of his energy to Liverpool FC, achieving notable success, but now feels it is the right time to step away. He stated that he has no reservations about the decision and believes it is not a difficult choice for him at this point.

Klopp, who joined Liverpool from German club Borussia Dortmund in 2015, has been instrumental in transforming the team into a formidable force in European football, achieving remarkable milestones during his tenure. Under his guidance, Liverpool clinched the Premier League title after a 30-year hiatus, marking a historic triumph for the club. Additionally, they secured the prestigious Champions League trophy in the 2018–19 season.

The club’s success under Klopp extended beyond domestic and European competitions. Liverpool also claimed victories in the Club World Cup, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup, further solidifying their status as a football powerhouse.
