Visakhapatnam: Jasprit Bumrah emerged as Bharat’s saviour as he delivered an in-swinging Yorker and dismissed England’s Ollie Pope. Pope, who scored 21 runs from 55 balls, left the field dissatisfied with his dismissal. This marks the fifth time Bumrah has dismissed Pope in Test innings, putting him on par with New Zealand’s Neil Wagner, who has dismissed Pope the most.
At the time of Pope’s dismissal, England stood at 186 for 7. Bumrah, along with Kuldeep, showcased their bowling prowess by securing three wickets each, while Axar Patel contributed with one dismissal.
England batsmen, who were dismissed by Indian blowers, include Zach Crowley (76), Ben Duckett (21), Joe Root (5), Jonny Bairstow (25), Ben Fox (6), and Rehan Ahmed (6).
In the aftermath of dismissing all England batsmen on the second day of the Test match, Rohit Sharma and Jaiswal returned to the crease to build the first-wicket partnership. Rohit Sharma contributed 13 runs from 13 balls, while Jaiswal amassed 15 runs from 17 balls. Bharat is currently leading by 171 runs against England.
