Thiruvananthapuram: In a recent report, it was disclosed that Indian cricket player Ishan Kishan will not be considered for the national team for a year. The news was first broken by Abhishek Tripathi, a prominent sports reporter, citing information from BCCI officials. This decision follows Ishan’s rejection of Indian coach Rahul Dravid’s suggestion, leaving him in a state of uncertainty as he refrains from participating in the Ranji Trophy tournament for Jharkhand.
A month ago, Indian coach Rahul Dravid, in a press conference, expressed no concerns about the player and assured his return to the Indian team after playing in the Ranji trophy tournament . However, Ishan did not take this assurance seriously and opted for a break, going on holiday instead. During the South African Test series, he took leave from the team, citing mental stress. However, BCCI expressed displeasure upon observing Ishan on vacation in Dubai. The Jharkhand Cricket Association claims to have no information about Ishan’s whereabouts.
An official spokesperson from BCCI informed PTI that Ishan’s comeback to the Indian team is expected to be more challenging, given the presence of talented players waiting for their opportunity. The spokesperson emphasised that the player’s voluntary departure from the squad may incur heavy consequences.
