New Delhi: Pacer Jasprit Bumrah may sit out of Bharat’s fourth Test match against England, as he has been granted permission to rest during the fourth Test. The decision comes as part of managing Bumrah’s workload, and the player does not need to play Ranji as well.
Bumrah has shown his stellar performance in the Test series so far. By taking 17 wickets, Bumrah stands as the highest wicket-taker in this Test series against England and has bowled 80 overs across three Test matches. It remains uncertain whether any other key players will be rested alongside Bumrah.
Mukesh Kumar, another player who was released to play in the Ranji Trophy, is expected to rejoin the team for the Ranchi Test. The Indian team is expected to depart from Rajkot on Tuesday for the Ranchi Test match scheduled for February 23.
