Mumbai: BCCI have decided to host the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 abroad, with Dubai being considered as the main venue. This decision comes in light of the upcoming general elections, with the Election Commission (EC) set to announce the election dates today. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will make the final decision regarding the IPL schedule after the announcement.
Teams participating in the IPL have instructed players to submit their passports, fueling speculation about the tournament being held overseas. The first phase of the IPL in 2014 was conducted in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
BCCI has already unveiled the schedule for the initial leg of the IPL, commencing on March 22. The schedule includes a total of 21 matches, with the final match of the first phase scheduled between Lucknow and Gujarat on April 7.
