Ernakulam: Kerala Blasters midfielder Vibin recently shared his insights and experiences from his footballing journey in an interview with a media. Reflecting on an unforgettable moment, Vibin expressed his thrill at scoring his first goal in the ISL against the formidable Mohun Bagan Super Giant in front of the home crowd, despite the team’s 4-3 loss. He described the moment as etched in his memory forever, especially as he contributed to the team’s effort with an equaliser in the 54th minute.
Discussing his turning point, Vibin credited his selection to the Blasters’ U-15 squad while studying at MSP Higher Secondary School in Malappuram as pivotal in his life. Expressing his ultimate dream, Vibin revealed that his childhood ambition is to play for the national team.
Sharing his training stint in Greece with Greek First Division club OFI Crete, Vibin emphasised the benefits he gained, particularly in improving his technical skills. He highlighted the differences in the pace and physicality of European football compared to the Indian style, as well as insights into European players’ training routines.
Regarding his favourite player, Vibin stated that he keenly follows midfielders playing at the highest level, particularly in the English Premier League and La Liga, due to his position as a midfielder.
Discussing his style of play, Vibin highlighted his adaptability to match situations and the coach’s game plans. Under Ivan Vukumanovic, he has been implementing a high-pressing game, a strategy he had not previously employed.
