Mumbai: Mumbai Indians fans have reason to rejoice as Suryakumar Yadav, the talented right-handed batter, is poised to return to action after a period of rest. National media reports confirm that Suryakumar Yadav has fully recovered his fitness, as confirmed by the National Cricket Academy.
Sources related to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that Suryakumar Yadav has fully recovered his fitness. They mentioned that he has already played a few practice matches at the National Cricket Academy and has performed very well. Suryakumar can now join the Mumbai Indians team.
Yadav’s journey back to full fitness has been meticulous, with thorough assessments conducted by the NCA. While he has cleared all but the routine tests to obtain the RTP (Return to Play) certificate, one final test remains on Thursday before his return to competitive action can be confirmed.
Suryakumar Yadav, who has been recuperating from the injury, is expected to make his comeback soon, potentially in Sunday’s match against Delhi at Wankhede Stadium. Suryakumar Yadav has amassed 605 runs in 16 matches for the five-time champions in the IPL 2023 season.
The injury occurred during the T20 series against South Africa last December, prompting Suryakumar Yadav to undergo tests at the NCA in Bengaluru before travelling to Germany for hernia surgery at a private hospital in Munich.
