Bangladesh: In a thrilling encounter, the Indian women’s cricket team secured a series victory over Bangladesh with one game to spare after a gripping eight-run win in the second T20I. The Indian bowlers played a pivotal role in restricting Bangladesh to just 87 runs, defending a modest total of 95.

In the final over of the match, with Bangladesh needing 10 runs for victory, Indian opener and off-spinner Shafali Verma delivered a remarkable performance, taking three wickets and effecting a runout to seal the win. The spirited fightback from Bangladesh came to an abrupt end as they lost their last five wickets for just one run in the span of eight balls. The spinners played a crucial role, bowling a total of 19 overs throughout the match.

Deepti Sharma, who returned exceptional figures of 3 for 12 in her four overs, and Kerala’s Minnu Mani, who took 2 for 9 in her four overs, were the standout performers for the Indian team. In only her second international match, Minnu displayed tremendous control and precision, delivering 17 dot balls in her spell.

Deepti Sharma’s impressive performance with the ball earned her the well-deserved “Player of the Match” accolade. Her contribution played a vital role in restricting Bangladesh to a manageable total and setting up the thrilling finish.

Earlier in the match, it was the Bangladeshi spinners who made their mark by stifling a formidable Indian batting lineup. Despite the efforts of Indian opener Shafali Verma, who top-scored with 19 runs, the much-vaunted Indian side struggled to build momentum and were restricted to a modest total of 95 runs.

The victory in the second T20I secured an unassailable 2-0 lead for the Indian women’s team in the series, exemplifying their dominance and resilience on the field. The result reflects the team’s collective efforts and their ability to perform under pressure.

As the series concludes with one more match to be played, the Indian women’s team will look to continue their winning momentum and finish the series on a high note. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will aim to salvage some pride by putting up a strong fight in the final game.
