BCCI announces exciting home season schedule for 2023-24: 16 International matches to be played

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled a thrilling home season schedule for the senior men’s team, comprising 16 International matches, including 5 Test matches, 3 ODIs, and 8 T20Is. The much-anticipated cricket extravaganza will kick off with the prestigious ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, followed by action-packed series against Australia, Afghanistan, and England.

The fixture details were confirmed by the BCCI’s tour, Fixtures, and Technical Committee, consisting of esteemed members Amitabh Vijayvargiya, Jayendra Sahgal, and Hari Narayan Pujari, adhering to the BCCI’s venue rotation policy.

The home season will commence with the marquee ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, setting the stage for an enthralling cricketing spectacle. The ODIs preceding the World Cup will take place in three cities: Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot, showcasing top cricketing talent in action.

Following the conclusion of the 50-over World Cup, India will take on Australia in a pulsating five-match T20I series, commencing on November 23 in Vizag and culminating on December 3 in Hyderabad. Expect fireworks on the field as the two cricketing giants vie for T20 supremacy.

In the New Year, India will be ready to welcome Afghanistan for a gripping T20I series. The first two T20Is will be held in Mohali and Indore, setting the stage for a nail-biting final match in Bengaluru. The Karnataka capital will also play host to the only Test match between the two countries, promising an exhilarating battle between bat and ball.

The highlight of the home season will undoubtedly be the Test series against England, set to commence on January 25, 2024. Cricket enthusiasts across the nation can look forward to witnessing high-quality cricket as India and England lock horns in five thrilling Test matches. The matches will be played in Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala, with each venue adding its own unique charm to the contest.
