New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the extension of Rahul Dravid’s tenure as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. In addition to Dravid, the contracts of the supporting staff have also been prolonged. Batting coach Vikram Rathore, bowling coach Paras Mambre, and fielding coach T Dileep will continue in their roles. The specific duration of the extensions has not been officially disclosed.
Under Dravid’s coaching, Bharat reached the finals of both the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup, solidifying the BCCI’s confidence in him. The board aims to have Dravid to lead the team in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Rahul Dravid’s first assignment after the contract extension is the tour of South Africa, comprising three T20Is and three ODIs. The schedule also includes two Test matches in Centurion starting on December 26 and in Cape Town on January 3, and the Test series against England before the T20 World Cup.
Dravid’s professionalism and strategic efforts have been key contributors to Bharat’s success. His ability to tackle challenges and guide the team to victory has earned praise from BCCI president Roger Binny, who acknowledged and appreciated Dravid’s talent.
