Dubai: In preparation for the 16th edition of the IPL, 333 players has been shortlisted for the upcoming star auction, where 77 slots are up for grabs. The final auction is scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 19, with the bidding set to commence at 2:30 PM IST.
Ten Malayalee players are set to be part of the auction, with Basil Thampi and Sudhesan Midhun leading the pack with a base price of Rs 30 lakh. Other players include Rohan Kunnummal, Shreyas Gopal, Salman Nisar, PA Abul, Vysakh Chandran, KM Asif, and Jalaj Saxena, listed with varying base prices.
Meanwhile, Sanju Samson is retained by the Rajasthan Royals, and Vishnu Vinod is retained by the Mumbai Indians. The auction also features prominent Indian players like Harshal Patel, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav, who have a base price of Rs. 2 crore. International stars such as Travis Head, Gerald Coetzee, Mitchell Starc, Rassie van der Dussen, and Pat Cummins also share a base price of Rs 2 crore.
Out of the 333 players, 214 Indian players and 199 foreign players are making it to the final list. The list carries 116 capped players (who have represented their countries in international matches) along with 215 uncapped players.
