Shimoga: Karnataka’s under-19 cricketer, Prakhar Chaturvedi, etched his name in the record books with a stellar performance in the Cooch Behar Trophy final against Mumbai. The young player showcased his exceptional talent by scoring an incredible unbeaten 404 runs, surpassing the legendary Yuvraj Singh’s record set 24 years ago.
Prakhar scored 404 runs from 638 balls included three sixes and an impressive 46 boundaries. This outstanding achievement not only secured his place in the annals of cricket history but also marked him as the first player to score four hundred or more runs in a Cooch Behar Trophy final.
This bench mark surpasses the previous record held by Yuvraj Singh dating back to 1999, when he amassed 358 runs against Behar. Prakhar’s feat reflects not only his individual brilliance but also Karnataka’s dominance in the crucial final match. The highest individual score in the history of the tournament so far is Vijay Zole’s remarkable unbeaten 451, achieved for Maharashtra against Assam during the 2011-12 season.
