Mumbai: As anticipation builds for the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled to commence on June 2 in the United States, reports suggest that the Indian team’s squad will be revealed in May. According to sources from Sports Talk, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to disclose the squad on May 1, comprising 15 members. Moreover, teams will be permitted to make adjustments to their lineups until May 25.
In addition to the team announcement, speculations arise regarding the prize money for the tournament, with an official announcement expected in the near future. Furthermore, as teams begin their preparations, there will be an opportunity for two warm-up matches ahead of the World Cup.
Bharat’s campaign in the tournament kicks off with a match against Ireland on June 5, followed by a highly anticipated encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9. Subsequently, Bharat is set to clash with America on June 12 and Canada on June 15.
Rohit Sharma is set to captain the Indian team in the upcoming T20 World Cup, with Hardik Pandya serving as vice captain. The inclusion of Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah in the team is yet to be confirmed.
