Xiaomi is set to make its comeback in the Indian tablet market with the launch of the Xiaomi Pad 6. This marks the second tablet from Xiaomi to hit the market, following the successful launch of the Pad 5 in India. The Pad 6 was originally introduced in China in April, along with a “pro” variant. However, for the Indian market, it seems that only the standard version will be available, at least for now.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 (Chinese version) boasts an impressive 11-inch 2.8K LCD display with a high refresh rate of 144 Hz and a peak brightness of 550 nits. The screen supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 processor and houses a substantial 8,840 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
In terms of camera capabilities, the Xiaomi Pad 6 features a 13MP main camera on the rear and an 8MP front-facing camera for capturing photos and videos. It runs on MIUI 14, based on Android 13. Xiaomi had launched the Pad 6 with optional accessories in China, including a custom keyboard and stylus. Xiaomi India hinted that these accessories would also be introduced in the Indian market.
Additionally, alongside the Xiaomi Pad 6, the company is expected to unveil the Redmi Buds 4 Active wireless ear buds, targeting the affordable segment.
Recent reports indicate that the price of the Xiaomi Pad 5 has been reduced by ₹1,000. Initially, the Pad 5 was priced at ₹26,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant and ₹28,999 for the 6GB/256GB model. This price drop suggests that the Pad 6 will likely be introduced at similar price points.
The launch of the Xiaomi Pad 6 is expected to intensify competition in the tablet market, particularly with the recently announced OnePlus Pad.
