In a bid to enhance user privacy and security, Meta’s popular messaging application, WhatsApp, is preparing to launch a new feature that allows users to shield their IP addresses during their calls.
While this feature is currently in the testing phase under beta testers, it promises to offer an additional layer of protection for WhatsApp users, as reported by WABetaInfo.
What is Beta tester
“Beta testing is happened when regular users try out a new digital product before it’s officially released. They check how well it works, how easy it is to use, how dependable it is, and if it works with other things.”
The new feature can be found in the “Advanced” section of the privacy settings in WhatsApp. When you enable it, your voice and video calls become more secure with end-to-end encryption, ensuring your privacy.
The primary purpose of this new feature is to prevent others on the call from being able to access your location and IP address.
