Shenzhen: Chinese smartphone giant OnePlus is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated flagship OnePlus 12 series at an event in China on December 5. Amidst the excitement surrounding this flagship release, whispers about a new addition to the ‘R’ series have surfaced, with the OnePlus 12R making appearances on global certification platforms such as CQC ( China’s Quality Certification) and IMDA. This suggests that the global launch of the OnePlus 12R might be on the horizon sooner than expected.
Anticipated Features of the OnePlus 12R:
According to reports, the OnePlus 12R is expected to be powered by last year’s flagship processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, accompanied by an unnamed Adreno GPU. The smartphone is rumoured to feature a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 3,000 nits, as per Gizmochina.
In the power department, the OnePlus 12R is projected to boast a substantial 5,500 mAh battery, supporting an impressive 100 W fast charging capability. This marks a notable enhancement from its predecessor, which housed a 5,000 mAh battery and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
Camera enthusiasts can look forward to a triple camera setup on the back of the OnePlus 12R, featuring two 50 MP cameras with support for both OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation), alongside an additional 8 MP camera with EIS support. For selfie and video call requirements, the front of the OnePlus 12R may house a 16 MP shooter.
While OnePlus has yet to officially declare the launch date for the OnePlus 12R in Bharat, multiple reports indicate that the smartphone may hit the global market next month. According to a MySmartPrice report, the successor to the OnePlus 11R is anticipated to be launched in Bharat on January 23.

An announcement on Weibo by OnePlus previously unveiled key features of the OnePlus 12. The smartphone is set to be equipped with a robust 5,400mAh battery, supported by rapid 100W wired SuperVOOC charging and efficient 50W wireless charging capabilities. Notably, the device will also introduce wireless reverse charging.
According to reports, the combined wired and wireless charging solution is poised to achieve a complete recharge from 0 to 100 percent in an impressive 26 minutes via wired charging and 55 minutes through wireless charging. OnePlus claims that the battery life of the OnePlus 12 surpasses that of competing flagship Pro models, boasting a remarkable Days of Usage (DOU) metric of 1.79 days.
