Thiruvananthapuram: In a move to empower users with greater control over their messaging experience, WhatsApp is reportedly planning to unveil a new Themes feature. The discovery of this feature was made by WABetaInfo within the WhatsApp Beta for iOS 24.1.10.70 update.
The upcoming Themes feature is set to introduce a dedicated section, allowing users to personalise the app’s appearance by selecting from a variety of five distinct colour options, such as green, blue, white, coral, and purple. This enhancement aims to make the messaging app more visually appealing . The option to alter the branding colour holds particular significance for users with visual impairments or specific colour preferences.
Additionally, WhatsApp is undergoing changes in its data storage strategy. Android users who have been benefiting from free Google Drive storage for storing their chat history, images, and videos are in for a shift. With the impending modifications, WhatsApp data stored on Google Drive will soon contribute to the 15GB storage limit, or users will have the alternative of opting for a Google One subscription.
