Thiruvananthapuram: Xiaomi has launched its latest offering, the Redmi A3 smartphone, in Bharat, intensifying competition in the sub-10k smartphone segment. The Redmi A3 showcases the coveted ‘Halo’ design on its back, a feature typically associated with more expensive Redmi smartphones.
Priced at Rs. 7,299 for the 3GB RAM/64GB storage variant, Rs. 8,299 for the 4GB RAM/128GB storage variant, and Rs. 9,299 for the 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant, the Redmi A3 aims to cater to diverse user preferences and budgets.
The device boasts a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1650 x 720 pixels and supports a 90Hz refresh rate. It sports a waterdrop-style notch housing the front-facing camera, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Redmi A3 is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G36 chipset, coupled with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Additionally, users can expand the storage up to 1TB via the dedicated microSD card slot. The smartphone operates on Xiaomi’s proprietary MIUI 14 custom skin based on the Android 13 operating system.
Equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, the Redmi A3 supports fast charging through a 10W charger included in the box. On the connectivity front, the device features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, dual 4G SIM card slots, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, and GNSS.
