Chennai: The BJP has criticized Tamil Nadu Minister Anitha Radhakrishnan for his derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Tamil Nadu BJP has questioned Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin’s silence on the matter. During a public address, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Animal Husbandry, Anitha Radhakrishnan, made derogatory comments in the presence of DMK senior leader and MP Kanimozhi.
The state BJP leadership clarified that Kanimozhi’s inaction in addressing or questioning Radhakrishnan’s remarks against the Prime Minister is condemnable. They emphasized that Radhakrishnan’s remarks were disgusting.
During a public election campaign event, Radhakrishnan alleged that the Prime Minister inaugurated projects to secure votes, specifically citing projects honoring Sardar Vallabhai Patel and Kamarajar. He further claimed that the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was inaugurated to secure votes from the Patel community.
The DMK leader also commented on the Prime Minister’s address in Salem last week, where he honoured former Tamil Nadu CM Kamaraj, and insulted the Prime Minister using obscene language.
In response to these derogatory comments, Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai condemned the DMK, stating that such behavior is typical of their political culture. He criticized Kanimozhi’s silence, stating that her pseudo-feminism was exposed.
The BJP also announced on social media, particularly Twitter, that the people will respond appropriately to the DMK and their INDI Alliance.
