Case registered against Tamil Nadu Minister Anitha Radhakrishnan for derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Modi

Chennai: Tamil Nadu police registered a case against Tamil Nadu Minister Anitha Radhakrishnan for his derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The DMK Minister, Anitha Radhakrishnan has been charged under section IPC 294(b) by the police, based on a complaint lodged by BJP Thoothukudi district president R Chithrangathan.

According to reports, during a public address, Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Animal Husbandry, Anitha Radhakrishnan, made derogatory comments against the Prime Minister, alleging that his developmental activities are solely aimed at targeting vote banks.

Anitha Radhakrishnan alleged that the Prime Minister inaugurated several projects to secure votes, specifically citing projects honouring Sardar Vallabhai Patel and Kamarajar. He further claimed that the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was inaugurated to secure votes from the Patel community. Anitha Radhakrishnan also commented on the Prime Minister’s address in Salem last week, where he honoured former Tamil Nadu CM Kamaraj, and insulted the Prime Minister using obscene language.

After the video of Anitha Radhakrishnan’s derogatory remarks was spread viral, it led to huge controversies and several protests. Senior DMK leader and MP Kanimozhi was also criticized by BJP members for her silence, as she was alsopresent on stage while he made derogatory obscene remarks against the Prime Minister.

Tamil Nadu BJP leadership has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against Anitha Radhakrishnan and Kanimozhi in connection with the incident.

In response to the derogatory comments, Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai condemned the DMK, stating that such behavior is typical of their political culture. He criticized Kanimozhi’s silence, stating that her pseudo-feminism was exposed.
