Malappuram: M. Abdul Salam, the BJP candidate and former Vice-chancellor of Calicut University, remarked that the Left Front and the Congress are vying to appease the Muslim community in Kerala. The polling for all 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in Kerala is scheduled for April 26, Friday. Abdul Salam mentioned that the Congress and the Left Front had approached the Election Commission demanding a change in the election date. He emphasized that any citizen could cast their vote at any time on polling day if they prioritized the country’s interests. He also asked how the society will progress if it goes ahead in this way of saying that the polls should be changed.

Abdul Salam stated that he had no personal enmity with political parties like Congress, IUML, Left Front, etc. He questioned why they didn’t prioritize national interest, expressing that while religion and faith could be given importance, it should never be above national interest. He emphasized that he gave priority to his country, which was why he worked closely with NDA.

Abdul Salam said that the BJP is a party that respects minorities but questioned why the country’s Muslims were staying away from the BJP. As an educated Muslim, he realized it was his duty to join PM Narendra Modi in his mission to make Bharat a world power. He noted that when a section is jealous of the development of the country, Muslims are getting caught in their trap, and they should not yield to that.

He also noted that he had great faith in the Muslim voters of Malappuram, who were victims of triple talaq continuously. He mentioned that they might be quiet and disorganized, but they would vote for him as a token of their gratitude to PM Narendra Modi, who ensured the safety of their lives.

Abdul Salam stated that even if he lost the Lok Sabha elections, he would not demand anything from the party. Instead, he would decide to remain a grassroot activist.
