New Delhi: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates in a meeting with Prime Minister Modi commended Bharat for its proactive approach towards embracing and utilizing technology, referring to the nation not just as a government but as a ‘digital government.’ Bill Gates expressed his admiration, highlighting Bharat’s role as a frontrunner in technological adaptation and innovation. The esteemed leaders convened at the Prime Minister’s residence yesterday.

Prime Minister Modi, discussing Bharat’s digital revolution, shared insights from the G20 Summit in Indonesia, where global representatives expressed keen interest in Bharat’s advancements. He emphasized Bharat’s commitment to democratizing technology to prevent monopolies, ensuring accessibility and benefit for all citizens.

Responding to Modi’s remarks, Bill Gates praised Bharat for its inclusive approach, noting the significance of digital innovations and the potential for south-south collaboration. He expressed his foundation’s eagerness to partner with Bharat in extending its successful models to other nations.

Bill Gates further lauded Bharat’s focus on accessibility and inclusivity in technology, particularly in bridging the digital divide and providing digital infrastructure to marginalized communities.

During a candid discussion at the Prime Minister’s residence, Modi addressed the challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI) and stressed the importance of implementing watermarks on AI-generated content to combat misinformation.

The engaging conversation between Modi and Bill Gates traversed various critical issues, including AI, climate change mitigation, and women’s empowerment, showcasing a shared commitment to addressing global challenges through collaborative efforts.
