Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister of States V Muraleedharan has stated that the Pinarayi government is leading Kerala towards ruin, likening CM Pinarayi to a patriarch who is destroying his own ancestral home. He made these remarks while speaking to the media after submitting the nomination papers for the upcoming Loksabha polls.

Muraleedharan said that the Pinarayi government was running extravagantly and conducting political campaigns using people’s money. He mentioned that measures to increase the government’s income has not been taken so far.

He also blamed the Accounts Committee of Congress for the delay in replying to the Income Tax Department, stating that notices had been issued to Congress since 2018. He noted that the account was frozen after six years. Muraleedharan questioned how the leadership of the country could be entrusted to such an incompetent and disruptive party and how people could trust this party.

Muraleedharan added that there was no concept of different laws for the opposition and the ruling party, emphasizing that the law applied equally to everyone. He stated that the Modi government would conduct election campaigns across the country to gain power.  Regarding Manipur issue, Muraleedharan noted that racial conflicts had arisen in Manipur but clarified that no religious incidents had occurred in the state.

On Citizenship Amendment Act, V. Muraleedharan stated that Christian brothers who were victims of religious persecution had sought refuge in India, and the Center had attempted to grant them citizenship. He mentioned that the position of the Communist Party was that persecuted minority communities in Afghanistan and Pakistan should remain there and face persecution. Muraleedharan questioned what the church fathers had to say about this, emphasizing that Christians were eager to hear their perspective.
