Thiruvananthapuram: Union Minister and NDA candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram constituency, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, announced that a war memorial would be built in memory of Captain Jerry Prem Raj, a soldier who died in the Kargil war. He made this announcement while speaking at the ex-servicemen’s family reunion at Swadesabhimani Hall, Neyyattinkara.

Chandrasekhar mentioned that Captain Jerry Prem Raj had been a war soldier who sacrificed his life for the country while chasing away the terrorists who had infiltrated the Indian border . He noted that there had been a long-standing demand for a memorial in Jerry Prem Raj’s honor and added that he had always stood in front to solve the problems of ex-servicemen. Chandrasekhar expressed that his love for the country was inherited from his father, who is also a soldier, and mentioned that more initiatives would follow.

Major Ravi, Colonel Dinny, and Kargil war hero Jerry Prem Raj’s mother, Chellatthai, attended the event. Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad (ABPSSP), Neyyattinkara Taluk, also participated in the function.
