Kannur: The police have found out several more bombs in Panoor, Kannur district, after the investigation into the incident in which a bomb exploded during its making. It is reported that the police found seven more bombs from the nearby surroundings where the explosion took place yesterday. The bombs were found hidden in bushes.
The bomb collection was found by the investigation team while gathering evidence with the accused. The bomb squad is currently checking the area.
The investigation team has found that the accused had started bomb-making a few days ago. The police have also found glass bottles and other explosive materials kept by the accused for bomb-making.
Police said that all the accused in connection with the case will be soon arrested. They added that Vineesh, the mastermind behind the bomb-making, is yet to be arrested as he is currently under treatment for the injuries he suffered during the bomb explosion.
The police have arrested three CPI(M) activists who were present at the spot. The police informed that the accused were involved in political conflicts earlier. Police suspect that around 10 people are involved in bomb-making, of which eight have been identified.
According to reports, the blast occurred yesterday during the making of explosives on the terrace of an under-construction building near the house of Manoharan, a lottery seller. Sheril, a CPI(M) activist involved in the incident, was killed on the spot.
Two others, Ashwanth and Vinod, are also in critical condition and are undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College and Government Medical College, Pariyaram, Kannur, respectively.
