Kollam: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis visited Kollam, Kerala, to campaign for NDA candidate G Krishnakumar. During his speech, Fadnavis underscored the significant infrastructure developments brought about by the Narendra Modi government in Kerala, particularly in Kollam. He emphasized the transformative changes witnessed under Modi’s leadership, labeling it as “Modi Magic.”

Fadnavis praised the completion of long-pending projects such as the ring road initiated in 1972, which was finally finished and inaugurated by Modi in 2024, enhancing connectivity between Kollam and Tamil Nadu. He lauded the improvement of highways and the modernization of railway stations, attributing these advancements solely to Modi’s initiatives.

However, Fadnavis criticized the MP of the constituency for wrongly claiming credit for the renovation of Kollam railway station, asserting that it was Modi’s vision that made it possible. He lamented the decline of cashew factories in Kollam due to the policies of successive LDF and UDF governments, resulting in widespread unemployment.

Furthermore, Fadnavis questioned Kerala’s dependency on loans, citing the Supreme Court’s reluctance to grant additional loans due to the state’s financial mismanagement. He argued that Kerala’s lagging progress contrasted sharply with Bharat’s rapid advancement under Modi’s leadership, showcasing initiatives like the Vande Bharat high-speed train and extensive welfare programs benefiting millions.

Fadnavis highlighted Modi’s focus on empowering women through schemes like Mudra loans, enabling self-sufficiency for millions of households. He reiterated Modi’s belief that when a woman stands on her own feet, the entire family rises, encapsulating the essence of what he termed as “Modi Magic.”
