Wayanad: A four-member group of Maoists entered Thalappuzha in Wayanad and ordered the residents to boycott the Lok Sabha elections. The communist terrorists, led by CP Moideen, reached an area near to Pandiyodu in Kambamala by 6.10 am today.
The residents of the area said that the communist terrorists reached the area carrying guns and spoke with the locals for 20 minutes before retreating into the forests. They also shouted slogans creating terror among the residents. There were intelligence reports about the presence of Maoists in the area for the past several days.
Six months ago communist terrorists had destroyed an office of the Forest Department. Following this, the police and Thunder Bolt commandoes had combed the region and apprehended two Maoists during the operation.
Incidentally, Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad for the Lok Sabha elections. BJP State President K Surendran is throwing a tough fight against Rahul Gandhi accusing him of forsaking the people of Wayanad since he became MP. The LDF candidate is Annie Raja of CPI.
