Bhuvaneswar: Cyclone Titly hit the coastal areas of Gopalpur in Odisha in the morning. IMD issued red alert in eighteen districts as Titly has been categorised as a very severe cyclonic storm.
The wind with surface speeds upto 165 kilometres per hour.Heavy rain is continuing in the south eastern districts of Odisha. Road and rail transport has been affected. Power supply disrupted and telephone links also badly affected.
Two persons were killed in separate incidents in Srikakualam and Sarubujjili mandal. Evacuation was carried out in Ganjam,Puri,Khura,Jagathishpur and Kendrapara. Government has taken various measures to avoid mishaps in view of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
